I'm main SMN so I leveled it first, but I also really like BLM (only lvl 51 atm so I haven't been able to play around with the class much)
As part of the rotation and movement wise I'm curious if Transpose -> Thunder 3 -> B4 -> F3 would buy enough time for MP regen (Umbral I)
I say movement wise, because if you are in a bind/danger of losing Enochian then how punishing would it be to Transpose B4 -> Thunder 3

I rarely lose Enochian to binding effects.
I saw a Reddit thread (can't find it at the moment) that said that using Thunder at all is a DPS loss now. He'd just Sharpcast into a F3 to keep Astral up then keep going with another three F4s before switching to Umbral and so forth, he seemed to level out around 1100 sustained. I'm not a BLM myself though, I'm just hugely interested in the intricacies of the jobs in this game.![]()
I'd just like to see some mechanical tweaks to the casting of Fire 4 and Blizzard 4 in addition to duration increases to enochian and astral fire. Or make it as someone else proposed; fire 4 has a chance to proc firestarter OR it refreshes astral fire. The current rotation is doable but it just feels clunky.
Knowing the fight helps a lot with Eno and the rotation, but certain fights will still make it very hard to keep it active all time for example the last boss @ Neverreap.. Hate that fight with passion lol
those are my dps numbers so far:
Neverreap - avg DPS for the whole dungeon 850 & bosses 760 - 1180
Fractal - avg DPS for the whole dungeon 980 & bosses 950 - 1430
I believe it's all about knowing the fight and know when to cast and not to cast to keep enochian up at all time.
FYI as i'm still trying to learn and see what i should do and not do, but i never cast thunder unless it's a proc. bcz casting a normal thunder is a lose of dps so far when i test it and for aeo keeping enochian up at all time for that 5% damage is not worth it either. bcz that blizzard4 cast is a lost of dps as well in a AOE rotation.

Im curious to know when Square Enix will boot all them people that using third party software to check their dps.
So I have been playing BLM at 60 for a few days now and have been learning how to maximize Fire 4 uptime in each of the current expert roullette encounters while gearing and in curious as to what people are using as their non opener rotation? In the past it was always F3,F1x5,B3,T1,B1 repeat but what I find myself doing now is erring on the safe side and doing F3, F4x2, F1 (with sharp cast if its up) F4x2 B3,B4 repeat.
I'm not sure if this is the most efficient or ideal standard rotation as I'm still getting a feel for the new way BLM plays but this seems the safest non opener to keep Eno up and maintain my ability to cast fire 4. Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? sometimes I can safely squeeze a 3rd fire 4 if I have a firestarter queued but if not its really kind of movement dependent if I can get a fire 1 out to keep astral 3 after a 3rd fire 4. it definitely doesn't feel like I can get 3 out safely.
