    Ideas

    Until we see the raid, no one really knows how punished BLM is going to be for movement. That being said, if Ravana and Bismark (or a fair amount of the 60 dungeon bosses) are any indication, it's gonna hurt. Our single target is fine if we can turret, our AOE is fine, if a little boring now with weaker flare and the inability to flare from a mana pots anymore.

    I think there's a a few fairly simple changes that would make it really enjoyable for most people again, without making BLM broken.

    1) Extend AF/UI to 12s (15 if they were feeling generous). Yes, monk's GL is 10s, but they don't cast, meaning their refresh on their stacks happens at the beginning of their GCD, ours at the end. If you have to dodge an AOE, you basically have to sub out a fire IV for a fire 1 to maintain stacks most of the time. An extra 2 seconds on it would be -probably- enough to still keep our rotation on track. Not an increase in damage outright and doesn't really affect any lower level aspects either.

    Which is way it was disappointing to hear this from you. BLM has always been about learning the fight to maximize DPS. Sure, it's more punishing now, but it's also much more rewarding when you do it right. We don't even know how Alex SM will be like. For all we know, maybe you will have half the turns like T7/T8/T10/12. Let's wait until actual content that matters is out before we complain.

    I tried doing T5/T11/T13 and my Enochian was up pretty much the entire fight save for the times when the boss goes offscreen. It just needs more practice.

    2) Extend the length of time we hold can procs like freecure where it lasts 15s instead of 12s. Then thunderclouds in fire don't die as often and firestarters for reversion back to AF3. A proc could be held longer for emergencies and movement and subbed for a spell we're doing anyway more often (eg thundercloud for thunder firestarter for fire 1/3)

    3) This one is really just an idea I like, honestly not necessary, but I'd like to see the IV spells be AOE that do 1/3 potency to the surrounding enemies. That puts fire IV on the additional mobs under AF 3 at 168 potency, which is a little weaker than fire 2 at 180, but you'd hit one mob hard. Cycle targets so you don't burn one down too fast. Fire 2 to refresh AF stacks and enochian is actually involved in our AOE rotation instead of the way it is now where it's basically just a 5% buff and you debate whether the bliz IV cast to extend it is really worth the spell.

    I really like new BLM, it just needs a little fine-tuning.

    I was gonna switch to SMN in SCoB but my group told me not. It's the only reason I stayed BLM back then. I learn to maximize my DPS in any fight on BLM and the only reason I stayed BLM with this in mind is because SMN has a major mana weakness. They do not have this weakness anymore but we kept ours and this is unbalancing the jobs.

    I won't ever quit BLM but I won't play it in progression right now :P Just in farm content. How should I say it... I'm a main caster in my raid, not a main BLM so I pick the best available out of the two. If they are equal, I'll pick what I prefer which is BLM.

    I'd love to get Thunder back in my rotation. I feel like a pure Fire Mage. Ignore thunder as much as possible and trying to staying in Ubral Ice for B4 only sounds really silly when we have 3 elements.

    Always been a problem, at least B4 adds additional urgency to swap to Ice phase. XIV blm is a fire mage first and foremost though as that's where our damage comes from. Not a fan of it, but it is what it is. Getting Thunder back to a useful spell should be a priority though as currently it is an edge case on when to use it.

    If they ever added spell glamour and let me swap fire and thunder spells, I would do pretty much anything for that. (And updated their graphics to be more like Raiton)

    Y u lying for? Those duties are synced to lvl 50 ...... Meaning enochian is not available.

    You can skip the sync by going in with 7 people.

    Granted, it would be a hyper fast, low mechanic experience, but you can do it.
