It's just so solid... meanwhile blm has better ST + apoc, and a very bad version of mana wall and manaward which is still nice.
Good post. Also agree with Sleigh's points.

Aside from mana issues. Dps wise both blm and smn were pretty damn close to eachother

If by pretty damn close you mean 30-40 DPS difference then yeah, sure.

If you consider 30 dps a big difference when 500 dps is the norm then there is no point in even arguing with you.

In progression 30-40 DPS difference is a pretty big deal, yes.

No it isn't when the group dps is over 2500. That's slightly more than 1%

1% can be the difference between hitting and enrage or not

While it's small, at its inception the DPS checks were pretty dang tight for certain things. T12, pushing 4 Bennu was pretty close first week or two (ironically SMN was the best at it then due to Blackfires having vuln up rather than HP down) and 40 DPS could be a Bennu for sure. The difference between 4 Bennu and 5 Bennu, man, not only was it a massive heal/tank survivability boost, but having to burn down another Bennu was a serious DPS sink, meaning you had to spend more time and more CDs in Bennu phase. T13, it could be an extra Flatten in P1, or the difference between seeing enrage or not seeing it in T13.

I agree that 30-40 DPS isn't a big deal in a vacuum, but when it lets you do or skip things you couldn't normally do, that was where it let you shine.
