Or you could bring a summoner who barely lose any damage on the move while also having more aoe and utility

Holy moly guys, can we talk more about BLM instead of BLM players please?

I'm really on the fence with BLM right now. I LOVE BLM, and in the expansion I just haven't had as much fun with it. I really hope in the future patches when they're balancing stuff out they make some minor changes.
I'm also thinking (like others) that even just adding 5 seconds to Enochian would make it a lot more fun to play.
I've always mained BLM since starting the game, so I really hope they tweak it a bit. I don't want to change jobs, so I'm really trying to stick with it until then.

I'd rather have something to counter mobility issues than just more Enochian time.
The problem with this discussion is it came out BLM on Progression and "You should ignore adds like me cause I did it this way and my DPS is high." Why ignoring one of the most crucial mechanic of the fight. If the only solution to have competitive numbers to SMN is to risk the group further. You are giving me more arguments to reject BLM in progression.

Ignore them if they're gonna die before you can get your cast off, not just all the time. I've already specified that like 3 times at this point, and it was originally in response to your complaint about how the adds phase forced you to interrupt your casts. Sorry for giving you advice.I'd rather have something to counter mobility issues than just more Enochian time.

Personalities like yours truly baffle me. I love having intelligent conversations with ppl who make sense and present it in a way that is motivating and understanding, instead of spiteful and ignorant. While your way of thinking may not be incorrect, that doesn't always make your way of thinking the only correct way. Plus you have contradicted yourself several times.I'd rather have something to counter mobility issues than just more Enochian time.

If my raid group has plenty of dps to kill adds, does my staying on the boss hurt the raid? Well, lets take an honest second and think about this. Lets take T5 conflag for example. Hypothetically, if my group can kill a conflag without my help and me staying on the boss, does this hurt the group as a whole? Maybe since my numbers are higher now, it might help push the phase before the next conflag comes out, inevitably ending the fight faster. You said, and I quote, "putting extra pressure on your raid group," and "risking the group." This seems like another contradiction. Are you saying that a BLM ingnoring a mechanic is forcing the other dps to elevate their level to make up for that? If you are such a Nazi when it comes to rules for raiding, shouldn't your fellow dps already be playing at the highest level possible at all times?
So if the other dps in my party are that good, and can take care of adds without my help, and allow me the oppurtunity to continue dpsing the boss, that sounds like a great group with some serious synergy. Much like how I would tell my melee in T12 to stay on the boss for bennus and I'll take care of those so they don't have to run around the arena. Was their higher numbers by not doing the mechanic a risk to our group? Nope! Helped us push the phase faster with less bennus which makes Phase 3 a hell of a lot easier. But according to you, the mechanic comes first. So I guess our way of doing it was wrong.
I think the best thing to cope with movement would be to just like Fire/Blizzard IV refresh Astral Fire. That is the mechanic I struggle the most with, that makes fights frustrating, and would put blm back to where it was. Enochian I feel is neat and can be fun to race the clock with as you only have to refresh it twice before you can restart.
Astral Fire is the real limiter and what feels awful to combat. Before movement meant we lost the spell, but we could just restart again as its very rare to have to move for ten whole seconds. It gives more breathing room for handling mechanics and lets us pick up casting whenever we can. It would mean replacing Fire 1 but given how this expansion has issues with skill bloat, I don't see that as a bad thing.
Black Mage is a class I liked because of its simplicity which is gone now. As it is while firing off Fire IVs can be fun, when things go wrong, they go very wrong and it doesn't feel like the old black mage but a different class.

They should just have scathe refresh your AF/UI/Eno, and give it like a 10s recast. Might help with the mobility issues, but I don't have BLM to 60 yet so I don't really know what it's like.
You think I'm stupid enough to cast on a mob with 20% left? The problem is casting on a fresh target that dies before it goes off. Fire in none crit chunk 75% alone on them.Ignore them if they're gonna die before you can get your cast off, not just all the time. I've already specified that like 3 times at this point, and it was originally in response to your complaint about how the adds phase forced you to interrupt your casts. Sorry for giving you advice.
