Refunded Standard key for CE key via Steam, did I just ban my friend?

So i pre-purchased the HW edition for a couple friends on steam, however it sent them the standard vs CE. So I sent an email to steam support and requested a refund so I could GIFT the CE edition. They said they couldn't and after a few emails I gave up.

Shortly after HW started and we all joined.

Today I woke up to an email from steam stating they had refunded the money and removed the product I gifted from my friend ( out of nowhere )

So quickly I purchased the CE edition for them. However HERE is my dilemna and I'm super worried I may have gotten her banned >.< !

Since it removed her game, that would mean that the key that was registered with it would have been removed too... at least to my knowledge. Since shes already in 3.0 areas, in the time between her losing her standard key and gaining a new one ( putting into the mog station ) would her account be banned, frozen? Or would they only initiate an alert? I'm worried since I'm the one that gifted her, so its my responsibility and don't want anything to happen.

If this has happened to anyone please let me know. Also I'm aware they can upgrade via Mog station which is what I had planned to do, however I had no idea they'd turn around and fully refund us after stating its against their ToS.
