1st of all, the "it happens deal with it" response is BS. They're running a business. I paid money for a product and I want that product now. In any other business it would be completely unacceptable for this to happen. MMOs should be no different. This is not entitlement or any other cliché, it's how business works.
2nd, people with early access should have log in priority over those that didn't pay for it. Especially when the free log in events happen. Why should some one that hasn't spent a dime yet be treated equally with paying customers.
3rd, if it's to the point that problems are expected then they need to prepare for it. Not just apologize before it happens and then ignore it. Get back up servers or smarter techs that can handle such problems as they occur.
