Thank you for posting this as I look forward to this guide as I plan on playing machinist as my main.https://youtu.be/UbZkwgz6JnU There's your response :3
I've been practicing the opener in the guide, it's definitely an improvement. Can't say I care to use food or dexterity potions though, not now anyway. They are stupidly expensive, no content in the game needs them, and I probably won't do much savage right away.
I play on an NA server but I'm currently living in Africa, so my latency is also pretty bad. Ninja Mudras barely work unless I do them slowly, and sometimes my procs for slug/clean shot appear late so I can't fire as quickly as I'd like. That being said I do really like playing MCH. My friend checks my dps on occasion, and while I don't do high dps, I consistently out dps a lot of people who by all rights should NOT be out-dps'd by me (dragoons), so I'm not too worried about my standing.
That's all. Just wanted to say thanks for doing the research and stuff, it's a big help. I expect I'll get better at MCH as time passes and I get more comfortable with it, not to mention I'll be stateside again fairly soon.

alright, so with enough skill speed, you can fit an additional GCD in wildfire; but it's only applicable to gauss-off split shot because it has the least delay to register the hit, compared to cleanshot or slugshot. whether or not it applies to wildfire damage is a mystery still to me, but the damage shows up before wildfire by 1-3 frames, so i think it should. opener is the same for the most part
RS HE BFB HC>hot shot(dex pot)>lead(reload)>split(wildfire)>slug(quick+reassemble)>clean(rapid+ricochet)>split(GR)>slug(h.graze)>split(blank)>clean(gauss off)>slug>split>wildfire detonate
making a video of it. at 2.40 (618 sksp) gcd i can do it pretty consistently

Does anyone know if applying Hawk's Eye after Dex pot will result in an overall increase in Dex when compared to Hawk's Eye->Dex pot?
Has been quite a while since I saw a question that made me go, wtf I have never even thought of that.
Just tested it
HE->POT = 1158 dex
POT->HE = 1158 dex
So it does not matter whether you pop it before or after HE the dex will be the same.
Using ACT I've been getting the Floating text showing it counts but not getting the damage calculated into WF. I just don't use Lead shot and it's pretty easy to figure out.alright, so with enough skill speed, you can fit an additional GCD in wildfire; but it's only applicable to gauss-off split shot because it has the least delay to register the hit, compared to cleanshot or slugshot. whether or not it applies to wildfire damage is a mystery still to me, but the damage shows up before wildfire by 1-3 frames, so i think it should. opener is the same for the most part

Edit: I just got it to work with a 2.39GCD

New gear is up on the Ariyala site. I just wish I knew what our accuracy cap was in A4. Hopefully we find out soon enough. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/Machinist
So much SkillSpeed. . . you can get 1045 sks. Wonder what the Gcd would be with that.New gear is up on the Ariyala site. I just wish I knew what our accuracy cap was in A4. Hopefully we find out soon enough. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/Machinist
If you completely ignored accuracy and did a full crit build, it would be at 781 crit/501 det. x_x
Thankfully, it looks like between the two sets there is enough pieces that compensate accuracy while giving a good amount of crit and det in the sets also.
I was looking at the esoterics... Sadly, I'm not a fan of the design of the gear. I figured it would be like what we saw in the preview pick, but I was hoping for something that looks more steam punk and less... Piratey.
