I've been keeping it on as well just to get used to it IF it gets buffed and SE intended for it to be up 100% of the time. Although I do turn it off if I know there is a lot of movement in a fight. It's only two buttons - gauss round every 20 seconds and ricochet. As it stands right now, it's not really an increase or decrease as MCH is putting out about the same amount of damage on as it is off. I use it because I like the extra buttons during downtime and I want to get used to it for when it hopefully gets buffed. For now, using it outside your opener isn't really necessary, though.

Yea, I was referring to feint as the 3rd ability, as some people are using it.
I don't really consider myself a hardcore player, but I do check in with threads like these and see what other people are doing to maximize their dps, to make sure I'm not doing something totally wrong.
Judging by those parses, and my own personal experiences so far, I really feel like personally I'd probably be better off just only using it at the pull. It feels like a lot of extra effort to mess with it in a fight, and I could totally see myself missing some mechanic or something and getting myself killed because I was trying to juggle extra buttons at a hectic time for a minor dps increase.

Using Dervy's damage formulas @ http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-DPS-Paradigm/ I updated the DPS simulator to actually calculate DPS, I'd like some input as to how accurate it is with your stats put in.
Assuming that the DPS simulator is accurate to some degree, I came up with some approximate stat weights for Machinists:
WD - 8.517
Dexterity - 1.000
Determination - 0.121
Critical Hit Rate - 0.106
Skill Speed - 0.014

That skill speed though. Although not much to expect from having only one DoT, and not scaling for turret...Using Dervy's damage formulas @ http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-DPS-Paradigm/ I updated the DPS simulator to actually calculate DPS, I'd like some input as to how accurate it is with your stats put in.

When doing the Green and Blue snake monsters in Bismarck and I'm required to switch mobs, my turret loves to get an extra two shots off on the wrong target while I'm switching (or even after I've switched) causing like 3000+ reflection damage. How are you guys avoiding this issue? All I can think of is to put it into TP Gain mode temporarily when the AOE goes off.

Put away your turret during the switch, and place it after it.When doing the Green and Blue snake monsters in Bismarck and I'm required to switch mobs, my turret loves to get an extra two shots off on the wrong target while I'm switching (or even after I've switched) causing like 3000+ reflection damage. Turret reflect from the snakes does not apply to your HP. Any reflect damage you are taking is from autos when leaving the mob or skills used. I still lead shot both of them reflect or not though. When doing the Green and Blue snake monsters in Bismarck and I'm required to switch mobs, my turret loves to get an extra two shots off on the wrong target while I'm switching (or even after I've switched) causing like 3000+ reflection damage. Hi OP, are you able to estimate stat weight assuming we have GB 100% uptime?
When should I use tp regen with the turret? I've not really used it in dungeons and have no clue when best to use since can't see the bars. Is there some trick to it?

When you have physical DPS with you and are AoEing lots of targets at once is a good time. I can't think of dungeons where I was a tank and needed a TP regen for bosses, though I haven't tanked the new dungeons (just DPSed them).
