I want to do macros so badly to clear up my skill bar, but from past experiences macros cause delay. They will make anything off global cool down only activate when the GCD has finished. Then you're scratching your head trying to figure out where your DPS loss is at. I mean Heavy Shot > Bloodletter macro seemed brilliant, I'd just spam Heavy Shot and Bloodletter would trigger when it was off cool down or proc'd! But it actually hurt my numbers.

    Macros are bad.

Oh okay I see, thanks for the answer

Also I'd avoid macros if I were you, on a job like machinist that requires you to make quick decision depending on the situation, any form of delay that could lower your already low dps is not a good thing.

I personally don't like macros because I feel like it takes away some ofnthebjob complexity as well. We complain about pressing one button over and over. I'd think macros would make that even worse.

Yeah I don't really use macros (in any game really) other than mouse over healing macros. Although it would be nice for all the CDs we have to use with MCH haha.

How much of a dps increase is it really to have gauss in your rotation?
I mean, I'm messing around with a dummy and I just don't feel like having to deal with what- 3 extra buttons? in a boss fight while having to worry about other things going on is realistically 'worth it'

It's only two buttons - gauss round every 20 seconds and ricochet. As it stands right now, it's not really an increase or decrease as MCH is putting out about the same amount of damage on as it is off. I use it because I like the extra buttons during downtime and I want to get used to it for when it hopefully gets buffed. For now, using it outside your opener isn't really necessary, though.

I've done a few test runs on my topic, and the dps difference between non-GB and fulltime GB was 3.3%. Include in the fact that my non-GB test had the least amount of crits between the three, and that difference would be even more negligible.

Wow, that's not good. I've been assuming that like WM the GB is supposed to be a higher dps stance, but it looks like it's failing spectacularly at being that.

WM does lead to a damage increase for bard, but it's not the case for machinist. It's probably because part of our overall damage is not increased by GB (the turret).
