So, we know hawk's eye is a bigger DPS boost than b4b, but does anyone have detailed math on how dex converts into damage? I'd heard before that it was about a .5% damage increase for every point of dex, which would make hawk's eye a 7.5% damage increase, but that was just an approximation and it's clearly an underestimate.

Hawk's Eye increases damage by 15% for me.So, we know hawk's eye is a bigger DPS boost than b4b, but does anyone have detailed math on how dex converts into damage? Hi everyone!
Just curious if anyone can tell me how damage is for MCH. I had read some bad things but they look fun. I like to be able to fork out some good damage.
How far behind other dps is MCH?
Thanks!

Whatever you have read is likely from when the job came out, people did not know how to use it and were quick to call the job out. We have found optimal rotations over time and SE raised our GB damage boost to 30%. MCH and BRD for the most part do the same amount of DPS and both of those jobs do a good enough job keeping up with the other jobs. Both are ultimately support style DPS, so they are going to do a little less damage than completely dedicated DPS, but they definitely do enough to push phases.
Basically, both MCH and BRD are heavily desired in parties and are not turned away in party finders if that is what you are wondering.
Thank you for the response. Since I don't run with meters I guess I just want to make sure I will be able to kill at a good pace. I love kiting and a MCH seems like it can do that a bitWhatever you have read is likely from when the job came out, people did not know how to use it and were quick to call the job out. Uh, if Judge_Xeros quick test has anything to say, DET is much more valuable to a Machinist than any other job. DET Scales more on Auto-Turrets than it does for AAs and WS's. If your Auto-Turrets "function" similarly to an Auto-Attack whilst in GB, then I can definitely see DET being in the 0.15 range, compared to 0.14 for all other jobs such as the Dragoon, Monk and Bard.
Of course I need a lot more Data to verify this... But it's just something interesting.
And I've always said SS won't be 0.020. It was never that low to begin with. If anything, it's 0.09 -> 0.11.

Thanks for the input Dervy. Im going to try to get some testing done this weekend for stat weights for us.
I just need Auto-Turret data, a lot of it, so I can see how stats scale. If anything, the Machinist should scale stats similarly the Bard, if I know my stuff correctly, so I can just use the same Damage Formula (which, coincidently, is the same as the Dragoon)...
Once I've got Auto-Turret data and done a lot of research on how Machinist works, and gotten my "Simulator" done for it...
Sadly, I said end of August to get weights done for Jobs... Looks like Summoner and Machinist will be a lot longer cause of pets![]()
