    Potency Based Recovery Abilities - Bug or intended?

    With the introduction of Heavensward 3.0 to Final Fantasy XIV, Square-Enix has introduced several new potency based recovery abilities including a change from Lustrate from being a 25% heal to a 600 Potency Heal.

    These abilities include

    (SCH) Lustrate - 600 Potency heal
    (SCH) Indomitably - 400 Potency AoE heal
    (AST) Essential Dignity - 400 Potency heal
    (AST) Collective Unconsciousness - 150 Potency HoT under Diurnal Sect
    (WHM) Asylum - Ground Effect 100 Potency HoT
    (WHM) Assize - 300 Potency AoE heal
    (WHM) Tetragrammaton - 700 Potency heal

    It has been reported in two threads thus far on the healer forums that these abilities are not affected by healing boosting abilities such as Defiance, Convalescence, Divine Seal, and Fey Illumination.

    The key thing all these abilities have in common:

    Defiance - Increases HP recovery via healing magic by 20% for self.
    Convalescence - Increases HP recovery via healing magic by 30% for self.
    Divine Seal - Increases spell-based HP restoration by 30%.
    Fey Illumination - Increases healing magic potency of self and nearby party members by 20%.

    As the new abilities given to the healers to play with are, well, abilities, and not spells, one could surmise that this may very well be an intended.

    I am seeking a direct answer from the devs to see if these abilities are intended to not take these bonuses into consideration or if this is a bug. The way these abilities current function, it may also allows for the healers to surpass certain Infirmity debuffs if these debuffs only indicate "healing by spells" - and I imagine this aspect would not be intended.

    If this is an intended feature of these new recovery abilities, then I highly recommend the dev team to change Defiance to be changed to "Increases HP recovery via healing magic and abilities by 20% for self." (yes, even if that means Bloodbath / Inner Beast / Second Wind will become more potent for them too)

    Some of these abilities are a "burst heal" and intended for immediate recovery. Warriors were intended to have higher HP pools and be healed for higher amounts. With the inability for Warriors to gain bonuses on these healing abilities, you're now indirectly hampering a Warriors ability to tank by making them harder to heal with these burst healing abilities.

    A response would be appreciated. Thank you.

    TLDR: Healing abilities aren't affected by abilities that boost healing spell potency - bug or intended? Regardless, please make an adjustment to WAR Defiance to be affected by these new abilities.
