I dont feel that this is simply a congestion issue - otherwise I wouldnt be able to get around it by switching to Chaos and then back to Aether (without logging in to a character) which is what, 20 seconds at most? Works every time too!

I've been trying to get into the game for the past 3 hours or so...

Trying to get into the character selection kicks me back to desktop (error 2002), changing dataservers (between Aether and Primal) also kicks me to desktop...
And I have get and type a new token every. single. try.

-1/10 - "crash to desktop" simulator wasn't what I pre-ordered / subbed for.

edit: Jumping to Chaos, then to Primal, did the trick for me. Thank you too, Shori!

It never works for me (im on PS4).

I have to keep spamming it until i get in by some fortune.

Im not even on a high pop server. At most i've had to wait for 9 people to log in. Thanks Balamung/Gilgamesh.

Speaking of Chaos why are there only 8 servers on there? Why are they not splitting Balmung and Gilgamesh to such an empty Datacenter.

Because they're all the EU designated servers, which are all going to be moved to Europe together.

Switching to chaos then back to balmung let me into the queue..of 766 haha...oh well I'm fine with that as I can burn time doing other things now.
Gilgamesh and Balmung really do need to be split onto other data centers.

Managed to get to queue at 762, but the number isn't updating.

I'm still thinking if you move one of the heavily populated servers like Balmung or Gilgamesh to Primal this may help alleviate the strain. The problem outlined even states that the Aether data center is having problems with connections because of these two worlds. Well that's because you've got two of the most packed NA worlds using the same data center. Offering free transfers off these two won't particularly solve anything especially if they don't want to leave their server. The problem lies in that you've got two huge servers full of players trying to log in simultaneously in addition to the lesser populated servers and all into the same data center. More often than not I have immediate issues trying to connect to the data center than sitting in queue waiting to get into my world. It errors out before I even get to the world select screen.

By the way for the few still fussing about RPers for whatever reason, Balmung (Formerly known as Besaid and Fabul before the merge.) had been chosen at the launch of FFXIV as the unofficial RP server. You don't HAVE to be a RPer of course by any means but saying a majority of the population wasn't RP players would be a lie.
