If at least I still had my old password, I wouldn't mind it so much, but it's even worse since SE always forces new passwords on me everytime I leave the house xD
It's like they made the lobby server errors that way just so I'm forced to better remember all the stupid stuff I had to make up as new passwords just to satisfy SE's greed for new ones xD

I know about the tokens, it's just that they are way worse than a new password every week, because it's basically a new password everytime I log in xD

It would be nice if they did what Blizzard did and give you the option after you enter your authenticator code to remember that computer so that you don't have to enter it again, that and the option to remember your password. You launch the launcher, it recognizes that you've played from that computer before and you can play the game with no hassle. If you log in from a different computer it asks you for both passwords.

While we're at it, make it so if you get DCed in a party, on the last boss, then re-enter within 20 s, you don't have to sit in the duty finder queue as dps for another 40 minutes.

There's a lot to love about FF XIV, but so much of how they approach their server tech (logins, character creation limits, dcs, etc) leaves a lot to be desired.

The reason that is a horrible idea is because that does nothing to prevent a keylogger from getting in. It also makes botters lives easier. So no.

Ideally, all SE has to do is "remember me until implicit logout or timeout", eg logging out at the inn or the menu. If the game crashes, or disconnects, or AFK-kicks, it should automatically resume without going through the launcher, main menu and character selection. But this also has the same problem as above, as someone could hijack the client-side login credentials, initiate a disconnect from the real users end and then login using their credentials... this was even pointed out back at V2.0's launch that you could pass the launcher strings to the game client and it would always work. And that is how bots login faster than real people.

The authenticator is designed to prevent keyloggers, that's why it gives you a fresh number based off of an algorithm (unique to your authenticator) every what, 10 seconds? So unless the keylogger is logging into your account with your computer at your house, or they happen to crack the algorithm that is used in your authenticator, you're safe.

This is very annoying! It's bad having to type your password word in but then the security token password every time. It's even worse on PS4 because I have to put down my controller to type the password and then rather than letting me tab to the next area I have to pick my controller up again.....

I really hate having to enter in both passwords. Maybe could be made if was in not so long ago from the same IP or what ever onetime password wouldn't be needed? or use the onetime password to register this main ps4/pc and will log in to the game or the website!

I've been thinking about getting software token but quite sure what phones work like is really any and all types of android phones so anything with android could work? or what versions?

And I still don't get how I'll remove this token when i need to where is this token removal password anyways? need to know so if when the battery dies?
