Couldn't they just make it so you can click on the aetheryte to teleport from the map? They already have this for the real world. Seems like they should just do the same for cities.

What an ignorant person you are. How dare you assume someone is "lazy or a bit dim" because they have cognitive issues that can cause temporary difficulties in remembering things. This is actually mildly concerning.
If you can't work out from context clues/learn by actually using the Aetherytes which one is which, then you're either lazy or a bit dim, being brutally honest.
They're not confusing at all if you just use your brain ... I never understood why they needed to change the ARR ones either, I couldn't believe that enough people thought it was an issue they actually changed it. I was only confused when they changed them xD
You really need to open your eyes to the world and realise that it doesn't revolve around you.
It is nice to know they are working on adding names to the Aethernet locations- even if I will probably have memorized them by the time it is implemented, it could be very helpful in the future.
As a new player I often find myself going to port to a shard, have to stop and open the map, look for the closest guild/landmark and then hazard a guess if it is still ambiguous but by the time I've done all this I could have just ran to where I needed to go. Should be good when the names are put in.
ahh the forgotten knight....
...
