    Help with chocobo colors?

not sure if this is the right place to post this so apologies if im lost.

so ive been trying to make my chocobo loam brown for some time now and its been bothering me a ton that i cant get it.

my chocobo is currently currant purple. The colour calculator is telling me that i need 1x mamook pear, 1x xelphatol apple and x2 cieldalaes pineapples to get from Currant purple to Loam brown.

however it seems as though theres a bit of guesswork as to what order one should feed their bird, can anyone help? itd be much appreciated.

From what I hear, the particular order does not matter much, just make sure not to feed him the same stuff in a batch. So, pick a different thing every time you feed him.
I think. I've not dyed my chocobo, so I have no experience, but that's what I remember hearing/reading.

    Here this should help: http://ffxivchocobo.com

I see you are already using that, but just be sure to not feed the same fruit all at once. Switch between them. It may be best to reset back to the default yellow color if nothing else works...

i generally fed my chocobo 5 of each fruit at a time, a little more on the fruits that required more and a little less on the fruits that required less.
for example to get chocobo color 1 requires 20 A fruits 36 B fruits 28 C fruits, i'd feed my chocobo 3 A fruits 5 B fruits and 4 C fruits, theres no real math to my method just a rough feeling of what feels right. also make sure you give him all the fruit required in one feeding session not over time

    What Kukajoo said.

I used the calculator too for black. Fed 5 of each at a time in one sitting (rotating till all gone) Left overnight and it worked first go for me

I'd suggest rolling back to Desert Yellow then trying this:

    You'll need 18 × Xelphatol Apple, 21 × Mamook Pear, 29 × O'Ghomoro Berries

    So in one session, feed: 5 Apples, 6 Pears, 8 Berries / 5 Apples, 5 Pears, 7 Berries / 4 Apples, 5 Pears, 7 Berries / 4 Apples, 5 Pears, 7 Berries.

If you try without going back to Desert Yellow now there is no guarantee you'll get Loam Brown as we don't know the exact RGB values your bird is currently on, each colour has a range of RGB that can = that colour. The default is always the same so it's always easier to get right from Desert Yellow.

RGB (63, 51, 41) = more or less the area for Loam Brown
RGB(59, 42, 61)= more or less the area for grape purple

In other words it look like your bird has a little bit too little green and a little bit too much blue.

Try and see if you can use the colour calculator to go from grape purple to loam brown, and see what color comes out of it.
However since its only 4 fruits difference, this time make sure to use one feeding session for per fruit.
