Like how you watched End of an Era/A New Beginning in ARR, simply don't do anything on the main title screen for about a minute - it should play automatically.
It's this trailer that plays (but with credits over it).
awesome! thank you very much! i hope they make a patch in the future to auto-play it for those who haven't watched yet. ^_^Like how you watched End of an Era/A New Beginning in ARR, simply don't do anything on the main title screen for about a minute - it should play automatically.

Haven't waited long enough at the title screen for a movie to play yet, but in the Movies menu on the main screen there's 2 available - "Answers" (ARR opening, maybe with Flames of Truth, didn't watch through it to check) and "Opening Movie".
The "Opening Movie" is just a narrated mix of footage from the ARR opening and the original FF14 opening. What is the purpose of this one? Why is it there? Why is the proper Heavensward opening NOT there? Seems really weird to me. I would be happy if they used this instead of the HW opening for new players who haven't finished 2.55 yet, so as to not spoil the events, but I'm not a new player...
'Answers' is just the End of an Era/A New Beginning trailer that was the 'ending scene' for version 1.0 which depicted the Calamity and the return of the original Warriors of Light. This played in ARR in the same way as the new Heavensward trailer does now with the expansion installed - if you idle on the main title screen for a certain length of time. The 'Opening Movie' is exactly what it says on the tin - this is ARR's opening movie that played the first time you loaded up ARR, and provided plot exposition about Eorzea and the Calamity for new players (it just consisted of mostly footage taken from the original 1.0 opening movie and the End of an Era/New Beginning).
Also the Heavensward trailer has major plot spoilers from the 2.55 patch so not having that as the new opening makes sense - SE doesn't want to spoil that for new players.
