    Game of Thrones reference overload (minor spoilers)

    So Ishgard (and to a smaller extent all of ARR) has always been heavily GoT-inspired, especially the localization. Yoshida is a known fan of the show, and clearly that goes for the English team as well. But aren't they taking it a few steps too far now? The whole trial by combat thing was just TOO blatant. They even used "in the eyes of gods and men"! It's to the point where it almost comes off as a ripoff!

    Just got to Dusk Vigil now and... it's literally, unironically the Night's Watch. Quest name is a direct reference (And All the Nights to Come), they copy the oath (We are the X on the wall), and the Lord Commander (note the title) has turned into an ice zombie... just like the Night's King. And then the boss comes along, and one of its attacks is called The Winds of Winter. Yeeeeeeeah....

    Yes, because Game of Thrones invented Trial by Combat.... >_> Oh, and "in the eyes of gods and men" is a very, very common phrase from the historical period. Like as common as "Ladies and Gentlemen".

    Doesn't change that there is a lot of game of thrones references in the Dusk Vigil dungeon and the Western Coerthas zone...
