Fix For 2002 Eror and unable to conenct to looby.

It seems there is a bit of a DNS issue but the fix is a multi layered approach. I am going to list what I did and what others did that worked...Essentially what happening is your computer and internet equipment are all looking for a dns that has changed or been altered a bit. Now..here we go. Try these steps one by one until one works for you.

1. Turn off the modems AND routers,physically(unplug or power button). Then turn it back on.

2. Flush your DNS from the computer(search or open CMD and right click, run as administrator, then, at the prompt, type ipconfig /flush)

3. Those of you using Firewalls, stand alone or anti virus bundled such as Avast will need to temporary turn that off as well and then log in. You can turn it back after your character has loaded ingame. This will force an update internally of the firewalls dns.

4. Anyone using VPN, and ANONys will need to turn it off to get in as some are not caching the DNS properly.

5. Restart the computer to make sure stuff updates after doing any of these steps...you are working with a chain here and one link is all it takes to screw us up.

And some of you..like me..will have to do all of this.

P.s Anyone having anything else they did that worked OTHER Than the switch data centers ingame solution(this wont work for most sadly) , please add it to the list.

It's not a problem on the players end, its a problem on the servers end.

The DNS flush doesn't work anymore. SE needs to fix this but their silence on the matter speaks volumes.

My post has been fixing multiple people's issue by just swapping data centers.

For those not able to do the simple fixes, this is most likely an antivirus issue. I was running malwarebytes, turned it off, could then connect no problem.

I'm able to connect to Every other datacenter just fine. it's Aether (Siren server) that's constantly giving me problems since I logged off and back on after dinner

To me this comes off as SEVERE server congestion, not "lol delete your WTF folder" (as the GMs in that other popular MMORPG used to say"

Exactly. Connecting to other servers isn't the problem. True, switching data centers can help sometime FOR that reason... but this is a problem with the aether data center itself, not something client-side.

In this situation, silence typically means "we're running around like chickens with heads cut off, scrambling to find out wtf broke so we can un-break it"
