why sq-enix not add new servers or expand player host number capabilities thereof

why sq-enix not add new servers or expand player host number capabilities thereof. We are paying for access, but instead of us being allowed access to the game, we are unable to play the game because cannot login due to overcrowded servers. That is a problem easily fixed by square enix.

1.) They would have to purchase additional hardware, transport it to their data center (which can take days), set it up, test it, install the software on it, bring the other servers that would be connected to it offline, and then hope that once it was brought online it wouldn't cause any issues with the other servers.
2.) They work on a forecast. Every game has a surge of players around game/expansion launches and then typically die down within the first month. There's no sense in them setting up additional hardware only to have to scuttle it later.
    3.) Reasons.

They either can't afford to or they "did not foresee this many players". Usually it's the latter.

While that was slightly painful to read I will answer you, back when FF XIV: ARR launched there were very much similar if not the exact same problems we are seeing today, and will see for prob the next 2 weeks, as once this phase ends and Heavensward officially launches there will be another spike. Anyways SqEx has already said they have a target population for the game, and are not looking to expand much on it, just maintain, so with the same influx of players coming back/joining, there will be many ragequits over this in which they will promptly leave after much QQ and servers will then 'balance themselves' meaning SqEx makes profit off the game copies they sold, and did not have to spend money to enlarge servers/capacity. Do they care about us? short answer No. By THEY i mean those whom make the decisions at SqEx.

This question comes up every single time any MMO launches any expansion ever. The servers are designed to handle an average amount of traffic, and expansion launches are basically the exact opposite of that. People who demand the company just "get more servers" are basically demanding an expensive, permanent, and not-guaranteed-successful solution to what is a very temporary problem.

It's frustrating as all seven hells, but this is a case where we should just bite the bullet and wait it out.

While you hit some valid points, successful MMORPG's have adopted the practice of maintaining Healthy server populations across the board, either by having additional overflow servers always available for times such as these, condensing or offering free transfers off servers to even populations (entire guilds/FC's too), implemented permanent layering of zones(copies of the same zone to split up the population and ease server congestion).

Some of us would be more understanding if this was SqEx's first venture into the MMORPG territory, however it is not, the main stopping block here is SqEx's business practices.
