Any word on stat caps for pentamelds yet?

Above says it. Curious how much life I can squeeze out of my i110's before I'm made to invest. I think I heard a rumor that it won't be like before where you can put the same ammount of STR on a VIT accessory as that equivalent STR accessory could hold.

    Just curious moving forward.

well you almost immidiately get better gear than your 110 gear, right off the bat in heavensward. you might wanna save up you materia for endgame since you will be geting full new sets of gear all te way through leveling(the last set is at 58) after that you should have ilvl 145 which lets you into the new dungeons that gives you ilvl 160. along with law token to buy your ilvl 170 gear.

That's debateable. If Pentamelded i110 can hold 39 Stat points (18 Str/21 Vit) and Asuran i180 holds 36 of one of the two stat, then you could argue that it's better than those.

Though with the Citrine Choker, for example.... HQ Fending has 29 Vitality. It's most likely going to be able to hold more stat points, but the Strength version holds 31 strength. Previous examples have allowed you to add the same amount of Str or Vit as it's vit or strength counterpart. So if you could still add 31 strength with Materia, while maitaining the set 29 Vit, then the Citrine Choker would hold 60 stat points. I just didn't know if anyone knew it to be true, or if they had for some reason adjusted the max stat points on a single item that could be added.

Melded i110 looks like it will remain relevant all the way to i180 if you plan on mixing and matching vitality/strength accessories. It's pretty nifty.

If you have one i180 fending and one i180 slaying, that's 36 vit and 36 strength. Two crafted i110s melded will be 42 vit (40 if you were slightly cheap) and 36 strength. Of course, the i180 will have better secondaries, but given that it's only going to be secondaries separating i180 from the i110 crafted, that's pretty good.

If you're not going to mix and match fending/slaying, then obviously i180 is way better.

When leveling past 50 the VIT from i110 accessories is pretty irrelevant. Just drop them for whatever Slaying accessories you can get. Worry about VIT at 60 when gearing for Alexander.

I feel like we've derailed off the original question I asked. I'm assuming we do not yet know what new pentameld stat caps will be yet. I look forward to finding out though.

That's the answer we have. We can either assume that previous patterns will remain and the full iXXX cap of STR and VIT can exist on an accessory at the same time or give credence to this rumor that whatever stat is main on an accessory the other will be lessened. Both will result in crafted accessories remaining absurdly powerful.

For now, I don't think we should worry too much about the accessories until the i170 set drops with Alex Savage. I doubt that Alex Normal will be difficult enough to necessitate melding the i150 accessories in order to meet checks considering what devs have said about it.

We will need to keep Grade V Materia in mind, though... if the caps are high then Grade V will be necessary to meet them in a reasonable number of melds, but the number of Grade IV+ overmelds will result in awful success chances

Unfortunately, it looks like Grade V materia requires a base of ilvl 160 before you can meld it onto something. Since the highest ilvl DoW/DOM accessory crafted stuff that shows up in the database is i150, it doesn't look like it's meldable onto those.
