    Why the huge nerf with Fey Wind?

    I know they added the two skills into one but they have just made it completely useless by nerfing so much its now only 03% speed? So from 30% to 03% is just crazy.
    it only speed you up by .07 sec off the cast and global CD. what is the point to this skill now?

    Pretty certain 30% additional spell speed also only removed about 0.07 seconds off your cast for a normal spell (though I don't have any math to back this up).

    Overall, it should be about equivalent. Mechanically, there is a difference from a 30% BOOST to Spell Speed versus a 3% REDUCTION in GCD, but should still have a similar effect on your GCD.

    Just did some quick Googling and will correct myself here.

    According to this spreadsheet, and assuming a base SpS of 341 (I dunno if that's for BLM or universal for all jobs, as Puro is known for his BLM calculations), 30% additional SpS would result in 443 SpS - a 0.10s reduction.

    So, yes, Fey Wind is slightly weaker versus Fey Glow's 30% SpS Boost.

    However, that 3% reduction for physical DPS is huge as it not only reduces their GCD on weaponskills but also reduces their auto attack intervals too, allowing them more hits. That's probably why S-E balanced it like that.

    because those actually effective the spell/skill speed stat. 30% boost to the actual stat will be a HUGE dps gain for all DOT abilities. So 1000 would gain 300 extra stat point I think the new skill effects the cast time or recast time.

    I remember the old skills having a lot more effect than fey wind. It didn't translate to a full blown 30% reduction in cast times, but was a lot more than the 3% we have now IIRC.

    it had to change to keep balance because skill/spell speed now effect DoTs and Hots durations/ticks
