Gettting quite peeved off at this time

Hallo all,

yesterday I tried to get in the game. had to force myself through three hours of failed log-on attempts to get on.

And for the past fifteen hours I have tried to log onto the game aaaand guess what.

I have gotten enough black rectangle of dooms to make blackout curtains for the Louvre,
managed to get black rectangles -AFTER- I entered my login and password in the required fields and gotten a string of java instead of a launcher.

To whit: this one:

I got this one when I accidentally highlit the whole lack rectangle.

In all, I managed to get past the black rectangle of death twice, and gotten a 2002 and 5006 error.

For fifteen hours of trying to log on and play the game with friends...ya. No fun.

I am nowhere near the Heavensward stuff either; the gear I have on now has been a gift from a dear friend. I want to do my main quest and get that magitek armor already! iwant to run through the field of fates, wander through the world and explore it, run screaming like a small girl from overpowered overworld bossmobs that try to flatten me and my chocobo, finally find out how to get the minigames, go fishing and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Found on Europa, moon around Jupiter. A freaking huge iceberg. I want to experience it all.

I want to play this game. I really do.

So I wonder. When will this stuff be done with? When will I and, I doubt not, a massive troop of other people that want to play be able to do so?

Unless, of course, we need to go sacrifice virgins/children/goats/force people to watch slideshows of holidays and weddings whilst droning at them in a monotone voice about what is going on, or worse, dig out the horrific old VHS tapes of the weddings. The horror...

Anyway. Let's hope things get fixed; I want to go play with my friends. :c

P.S.: Might be an idea, guys at SE...do something for your community; they're getting pretty sad with how you've been not communicating with them. Hell, toss us a bone; something silly or the like that we can enjoy ingame, something shiny to show the world that we survived the Catastrophy of Heavensward Prelaunch (title or something? Iunno) or some pocket change to use in the Mog Station store? Or just five days added to the subscription for the time people have not been ableto enjoy the game or, indeed, been able to play.

Ah well; back to the grind and hope that I can log in to actually grind.

There silence says it all. They have our money. They don't care. They probably got the pre order numbers they wanted. Now launch is going to be just as bad and these forums will be flooded with more rage. All the while nothing will be sad until people unsub in frustation. Then when things stabilize with the lack of players SE will most likely swoop in and say "problem solved, nothing was wrong."

Huh...that's a odd....error actually. Let me skim a few things really fast and see if its shown up anywhere else.

Ok I have found a few articles actually mentioning this on reedit. Is it a persistent issue or is it just a off and on one. Secondly there is some suggestions that maybe its a malware type of deal but that's just over some of the articles I have found with any relation to it what so ever and those are a year old. Those I can't determine if they hold any ground to facts.

It's quite persistent; have been fighting this on and fof for the past month of me playing the game; has only gotten worse overtime.

The machine has received a clean install of WIndows 7 before FFXIV was installed; it has not been used for anything other than this game UT '99 and Quake 2...

Also, I have the full text of the javascript here; dunno if I can post it here without getting Square chasing me with a large hammer.

If I can freely post it, I will toss it in a Pastebin and post the link.

It is mentioned of being relation to something called scorpion saver.

If you do happen to have something like that I would suggest possibly getting rid of it because I can't exactly figure what it would be for other then screensavers to start with. I will provide the corresponding article I found if it can help you any but the best thing you can do in this matter since they are so busy with the servers being bogged down is to simply entrust google or look over the past forum posts.

As for the 2002 and 5006 errors, Solutions for those are minimal other then to keep trying. :<

Hmmm...Alright it doesn't appear to be the same script as what was provided before in my link but it is the same coding so clearly the launcher hasn't changed much from a year ago. When was the last virus scan you preformed and what virus scanner do you use?

Because what I'm going to suggest is that you go ahead and take this time while you cant get into the server or later tonight is to get something called Malwarebytes and preform a scan with that, preferably after you disconnect your internet from your computer.

Its a safety measure usually suggested when doing any can in truth.

Anything else I would suggest you then preform a follow up scan with your normal virus scanner.

Avast is a good alternative to most other scanners I have come across (Particularly if your stuck with Macfee right now or whatever its called.)

After that if it continues try reinstalling one last time and double check for that program I mentioned Scorpion Saver.

If you got it and your not sure where it came from then you should probably get rid of it.
