The concept of turning old bosses into new summons in FFXII was brilliant. Some turned out better than others (Zeromus was a bit meh), but the concept really worked for me.
The fights were epic. I'm still remembering Zalera's laugh and his maiden's scream. I loved the animations for their -JAs and it was a nice touch to give each of them additional status effects that that the espers could use to spice up the battle even more.
