Ok ok. I really only said that because the first game was completely devoid of music. And I LOVED the music from gears. Plus, the gears were pretty puny. It had a good story, sadly I never played the following sagas. I heard those did a lot better. Maybe i will someday.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.
I'd actually love to get a hold of an HD remake of Saga, got stuck half-way through EPII at a boss fight I couldn't beat. I ended up dropping the game for some time for other games and never got back to it.
Ah yes, the gears in Saga where really small in episode one, but they fixed that on episode 2-3.
It wasn't completely devoid.
The gears were also useless in Ep.1. Like for real, I never used them except those few scenes where I was forced to.
And hey, most of the music in Ep.2 was throwaway filler music except for the totally awesome cutscene music by Yuki Kajiura.
So much talk about Xenogears... really going to have to check it out ○.○;
I agree with OP, game may have its faults, but which game hasnt. WoW which is the biggest mmo has alot of bugs and balance issues still after 7years.
But the community and the players online has all been a pleasure to socialise with. And im sure as time progresses and SE/Yoshi-P tweaks the game, it will become even better.
To all those ive met on Saronia, thanks for all the joy ive experienced. And ofc people on this forums. Most are nice, and ofc like any other forums we have some whos not so pleasent. But overall, Im happy with how things are at this time^^
xenogears was epic prolly one of the best combat systems for a rpg imho just a shame the second disc more or less played the game for you.
Their best work, eh? Hmm. I thought it was a good game... but man, I don't know.
The Square PS1 era certainly was their best time though. Threads of Fate, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, FF7, FF8, FF9, FFT, Musashi, SaGa Frontier, Chrono Cross and Legend of Mana all on one console? So good.
