Problems with Heavensward through Steam

Alright. So. I bought the expansion a couple of weeks ago, been trying to register the codes ever since the purchase but keep getting invalid code. After looking around I noticed that my mog station doesn't even say it's the steam version of the game. Now, I bought the steam version a long time ago and have been using it for ages. I still have to code naturally so I've tried to register that too. Still get invalid code. Way before all this I did just have the regular windows version, which is probably what is messing up everything.

But for now, I'm out of ideas. Any help?

Did you at one point, ever use a non-Steam version to play on your PC and have that registered to your account?

Yeah, as mentioned above I did use to play with the regular windows version.

I had this problem as well until I found that I wasn't entering the code in caps like it came to me as. So, make sure when you are entering the code, it's in caps; otherwise, it won't register.

Yup, done upper case, lower case, in chinese. Anything I could think of. Nothing works.

You cannot mix up a Steam version with a regular windows version. I found this out the hard way a few days ago but they were kind enough to get me a refund. In a nutshell Square treats Steam as its own console (exact words from the tech guy I talked to), as such you cannot mix a Steam version of FF and Heavensward with a windows version of FF and Heavensward, even though they both run on a PC! So your expansion must match the core game. So if you bought a PC version from a store or the Square site then you have to do the same with Heavensward. Vice versa if you got it off of Steam.

Ok. I understand this. Thus, I tried registering the steam version of the base game and plaything through that, but even that wasn't registering. It seems to be hard coded for my old pc account.

alright, after waiting 2 hours in the queue for a live assistant only for it to tell me there's no available assistants, I've pretty much given up.
