Don't know if it's already been mentioned. But my friend had a nice idea. Instead of having the party be a requirement, make it so people that do these crafts in parties don't have to use as many mats or have higher chances to HQ things.

Three months excited to build airships, paying 800,000 gil, making the first phase to see that we can't do anything. And the other two alternatives are: annoy people each short time to be afk in our workshop or buy the pieces. Very frustrating.

My husband and I formed an FC with our two friends from 1.0 at the start of ARR. We are all rather introverted/socially awkward and don't easily make new friends, but we liked the idea of being able to have our own house at some point so we made our own FC.
Our friends from 1.0 last logged in 340 days ago. We now have too few members to make a party.

Thanks! My spouse is amazing yes. My brother is a pretty good sort too. I have friends in linkshells, but they have FCs that they belong to and like the others above, I'm not going to pressure them to leave. Also like the others above, I have no interest in inviting strangers who may not even be on we need them or interested in helping if they are. And I really shouldn't have to defend myself in that regard to someone who's only goal is to be snarky.

We formed a Free Company and jumped through all the hoops to get access to stables and gardening before personal houses came out and I have no interest in abandoning my FC. As I said, SE like to do little bits of social engineering and I was pretty sure that consolidating small FCs was the real goal of the AFK crafter party.

My company just completed our first airship. Here are a couple things to ease your minds.
Only the party leader has to be in the FC. You can have friends from outside your FC help, without risking your mats. Second, there is no level requirement, so even if they're level 1 you can still complete it

Sounds like recruit or disband. That sounded mean I'm sorry. I understand the situation. But being isolated does not help make friends. I have friends and I'm not really friendly. If you have a house however I am fine with your choice. Disappointed in your isolation but I would not tell you what's best for you. My suggestion is branch out. I have many friends while I won't do much actual content with them because reasons they are all very nice.

If only it were that easy. I am certainly not disbanding or selling a FC with a house I invested lots of time and millions of gil into. The few friends that I have made, I am in an LS with, and they all already have FC's of their own. The only other option would be to invite random FC-less people, and yeah... no.
I will probably ask people from the LS to help me out once the hype about the new content has died down a bit, but it just seems pointless to have the restriction, to be honest.

Edit: Also, to say you're 'disappointed in our isolation' is a bit weird... There are people who actually prefer to keep to themselves, you know?

Tiny FCs: This is unfair

I'm in a mid-size free company with a lot of crafting addicts and we were really thrilled at the idea of group crafting. It's something we were promised when 2.0 launched. We're giving everyone a few days to get through the story then we're probably going to start scheduling regular crafting groups.

I do feel bad for the tiny FCs, but weren't we also promised FC alliances in the future?
