I know this is a neco'ed thread, but for the love of all that is holy, someone throw a image of Crono on here from Chrono Trigger. If I remember correctly, he also used a version of this same stance while in battle ingame, and to me, Crono is a bad ass xD
(Although, he used more katana's I believe than greatswords. )

the point to this pose is keep the tip of the sword aiming the femoral artery to cut then with minimal effort is a enemy run to you is a pretty intelligent combat style for a big and heavy weapon, and drk can use the swrod like a big shield in the same way, have anothe pose how make the tip out the front is very ineffective for this sword, except if you can you can wield it like cloud of course. This thread is very very old now. The pose does look stupid mostly because of foot work, but he actually holds the sword up well. The issue is you "stay" in that pose instead of going into other poses. You actually don't sit in Ox Stance long.
Sorry I offended you.

Thought for a second it might be at least a version of it, but see I was incorrect. Shame it isn't the same stance, but cool info to know to be sure. Also, thanks for the vid and pics. Brought back some cool memories, even if it's the wrong game for the forums, lol.

can't say I like it, either since it reminds me of that goth chick from 10-2
But then again the same could be said about all the other jobs' stances
Swordman ship in final fantasy universe is based of Italian techniques. After rome. You can find out a log about is you do research on the crusders who moved from Europe to go on a Crusades in Mild East. You can find a lot about this if you search on Jerusalem Crusader. Or if you lazy, simply watch the movie "Kindom of Heavens" which have a deep historical fact in it.
If it is that movie with Orlando Bloom, "Kingdom of Heaven" needs to be taken with several grains of salt, but it is good for a movie.Swordman ship in final fantasy universe is based of Italian techniques. The movie briefly show sword techniques. But is it historically correct. And the only one I know that shows the Templars stance. You're welcome go make your researches if you do not believe me!![]()
Everything that comes to a martial art discipline hurts like hell when you try it yourself. Problem is? You aren't conditioned for it yet. Most stances are unorthodox and unnatural to our bodies. Thus why people train so it becomes common. If you don't most things will hurt like hell.
