I'm on Excalibur too, but would it be safe to assume you didn't buy yours from SE's online store? Mine updated fine, but I did buy the digital edition.I have the same issue as the OP. I patched the first half like 4.4GB last night about 7 PM. I closed the launcher while entering my codes online, verified everything looked good in the MogStation, opened the launcher, didn't get to patch. So I decided to toggle the "install automatically" option under Config, closing after each change to make sure it took. Booted up again and... still no patch.
My character isn't showing up on my service account, and I'm on Excal, so those factors might have something to do with it given it's having trouble.
