So after a few lobby errors, I finally get to the character selection screen. Great! I load up my template au ra from the benchmark, select the class, birthday, guardian and get to the big one, server selection.

Awesome! Balmung is open! I enter my name, click okay... 1006, server data could not be obtained. What? It takes me back to server selection. Balmung still showing open, I say "okay lets try again" data is all there. Click play. Error again. 6 more times... finally I refresh the server list... balmung is closed.

Come on! This is just unacceptable SE. I don't care how many RMT bots are flooding the network to make new characters, why not simply just set the server up so only early access people can actually make characters and not random RMTers?

The only thing serious in this thread is the amount of facepalming I'm going to have to do right now.

Im on balmung. probably the most populated server. I can't log in right now. Im not mad, I expected this. Still, no server crashes is a good thing.

It's kind of sad that many of us expect the servers to be crap. We really shouldn't have to have such low expectations at this point.

It's mostly account problems. They really screwed things up its not just people logging in its thag peoples accounts DONT EVEN HAVE HW!

most peoples accounts wouldnt have HW, the game doesn't come out till tuesday lol. we have early access tied to our accounts which grants us hw access tho :P

I do sure. but I just expect it with big games. When I use to play call of duty or battlefield on Xbox live those games were horrible for the first few days. Funny MS. Said they were ready for the huge amount of players that day but nope!

Wait why is this even a surprise?? It's launch hour. Take a chill pill and try again later or maybe tomorrow or u know what just let EA blow over and let SE compensate us with free game time like what they did before. There has never ever been a smooth MMO launch till date. Unless someone comes up with a technology to handle extreme server stress with thousands trying to login at the same time. It sucks i know but it's more or less predicted to happen 99%..
