Worried about downloading the client?

The past couple of days I've seen a bunch of worry threads about people who ordered Physical copies and are worried they won't be able to participate in the Early Access due to slow internet.

This began to get me worried too because I also ordered a Physical copy, and my internet is on a very old contract (~13 years?) and it is quite slow: only around 320k downspeed. Yes, I said "k", as in, "0.3MB".

I just wanted to say I was able to download and patch the client today on my computer just fine with no problems. The "3 days to download" estimate is quite an exaggeration. I was able to fully download and patch my client in less than 10 hours. The file I got seemed to be around 8.3GB. I started it as soon as I woke up today, and left it running all day, and was quite surprised to see it done already.

My connection is basically "bottom of the barrel", if yours looks anything like mine (320k down / 90k up) I can assure you that you'll be fine. Almost everyone nowadays has faster than this with your basic cable service. If your connection is worse than mine, I don't think you really have any business playing online games anyway...

I downloaded the expansion just over ten hours (10am-ish till 8:20pm) today at .23MB. It went fine.

Also don't tell me I have no business playing online games. That's just rude, and I do just fine.

Latency is more important than download/upload speeds for most games, honestly. The data exchanged between the client and server isn't really that large.

I have a 130-140K connection. And its perfectly fine to play games. So ... There!

Anyway it took me from 4am PST to just 10pm PST to get the whole ~8GBs of things.
