Patch Notes for 3.01 have the following new items:

Steam-powered Gobwalker G-VII
Minion
Gobwalker exhaust can be used to steam hams.Use item to acquire the steam-powered gobwalker G-VII minion.

Gobwalker Shielding
Part
Protective metal plating used in the fabrication of a magitek gobwalker G-VII.

So the Goblin Minion is crafted by Armorer using the Shielding, which is probably a drop from the Alexander Raid. Not sure about the mount tho.

According to a comment on xiv-minions, it has been obtained from the lvl 55 Fishing Venture (Waterside Exploration XVIII). Note sure if it is limited to fishing only, or if it can come from any class XVIII.

Also Patch 3.05 has the following item in the patch notes:

Gobwalker Gear
Other
An oddly shaped metal cog that has been removed from an Illuminati-built gobwalker. Using it should restore the machine's controls.

There is no recipe for the Gobwalker, so I am guessing that obtaining the mount is related to completing the Savage quests or a turn in from some NPC using the Gear as currency.

Yah I was curious if there was *anything* worth getting from Retainer Ventures in 3.0? So maybe 1 Minion at least?

If anyone has gotten this Minion from Retainers other than Fisher please chime in. Thanks.

Confirmed. Got Gestahl a few months before. Waterside Exploration XVIII. Dunno if he drops elsewhere.

One of the unidentified bardings has been revealed. The recolour of the Orthodox Barding is the Noble Barding. It is a prize for the latest Hairstyle Design Competition. The contest is UK/France/Germany/Apain only, but maybe future contests will have this item as a reward too.

One of my fishing retainers brought back a Gestahl from lvl 55 18 hour venture, sold it for 6mil on my world. So I can verify that is how you get that minion, next one I bring back I plan on keeping though.
