New Job Sadness

I am pretty bummed that you have 0 access to the new jobs unless you have completely beaten the entire story line thus far. I knew this a while ago, but I really had no idea the extent of this. I just beat Ultima Weapon thinking I was good, or at least close.

Now I find out theres about another 125 or so quests to go before I have fully done the entire story. I really wanted to play this content on a new job

just chill out and take it at your own pace, if you stress and try to rush it'll make it feel like its taking longer than it really is. the expansion isnt going anywhere nor are the new jobs remember to have fun and you'll be alright!

I.. don't understand this complaint. Considering these jobs use crossclass skills from existing classes anyhow, your going to hafta level them anyhow. Historically in game, Ishgard has been closed off to outsiders. Which you'll learn as you do the main story. And the main story explains why it opens it.

You can't even play the new content on your old job.. Everything is locked behind that 2.55 quest. Zones, story, flying, Alex, new jobs.. Al of it.

Has been all over the forums for months. But at least now it'll be much easier to catch up with the changes they're making. Decent item level gear from the story quests and priority queue for players that haven't cleared the content yet, to name a couple. It does kinda suck, but you'll also realize it makes a lot of sense if you pay attention to the story on your way there.

At least you will get xp for finishing these quest and go into ishgard way ahead of those of those that are already there

Good news is you will be leveling your lvl50 job doing all those quests. In fact you could be leveling at a rate faster than the rest of us !_!

Expansion Packs are usually always mainly behind walls.

ALL of FFXI's are,
Jobs? Go try to unlock corsair when treasures released as a brand new level 1.
Area? Go try to goto any Treasures zone as a brand new level 1.

Many of WoWs are
Go try to unlock Death Knight as a level 1 when Lich King came out.
Go try to goto Northrend as a brand new level 1.

You know sometimes i think some people won't be happy unless every single peice of content is all up for grabs from the very start of the game. No working or actually playing the game, just give me all of it, asap.

No wait, people won't be happy because then we'll get complaints that it's to easy to access. I don't think this situation is winnable.
