PS4 patches downloads?

My 3.7 GB patch is downloading now. If I go to main PS4 screen I see under My Add-Ons it lists Heavensward with a clock timer counting down to midnight EST... which is before the servers come up, and I think is like a PSN-based timer gating the pre-order until tomorrow's date somehow. Perhaps PSN is somehow gating the last part of the download for people who did the pre-order this way, though that seems counterintuitive since we use a launcher and SE sends the patch data through that. I certainly hope this clock isn't holding back part of the download for some of us because then when the timer's done a whole lotta downloads will start at once and might not run as fast as if they're staggered.

I wish this download didn't have to come through the launcher, it means I have to have a currently unplayable game pulled up and can't pull up another one while it downloads.

The timer is a bit confusing. When I go to my add ons under the HW client, it shows the timer locking the 1.7GB file we downloaded yesterday. So I feel like unless that file allows us to download the other 2GB then it's irrelevant. But I've really no idea. They really should've clarified this before today or in the notes, because this is obviously super confusing for anyone going through it.

My Mog account looks the same as well.

The EA details on the lodestone state that "Registration information will be reflected on the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station after launching the game for the first time after Early Access has begun." So I think our accounts are fine.

I have the same service list but I only downloaded the 1.7 gb launcher + the 3.7 gb patch. This is really confusing.

Its because Heavensward isnt link yet to your account. At first launch after maintenance you will be prompt to do so.

Dont worry, Mogstation know that you buy it, just dont know which account it is for.

When I first launched this morning it started download of abut 5gb. When that it ended it closed out and then relaunched with a new menu confirming which service to link heavenward with, then proceeded to downloadanther 3gb file. For psn preorder
