Can you pause and later continue patching on PS4?

Hey everyone!

A quick question to those playing on PS4: Is it possible to close the game, play something else then later continue patching where it left off? I have a quite slow connection and I am already into like 40% of my first 5744MB download so I would rather not restart it later on, then again, I would like to play something else (Life is Strange) and continue downloading while I am sleeping. I dare not exit now. Also, if it is possible, do I just launch another game or have to press "cancel" first?

And a bonus question: How big is the total download for PS4? I had that 1.7gb when I activated EA, now this 5.7GB, just wondering how much is left.

*Bump* Anyone knows this? Still don't want to risk restarting the download.

Well I didn't exactly pause it, and it was on PS3 for my partner not PS4, but it lost connection and completely stopped- I restarted the client and the file it started to download was smaller in total than before and it said "resumed downloading update" or something to that effect... Bare in mind this was PS3 not 4, but I'm thinking it will be the same. Not sure I would risk it, but hey, you have all night to download it, might be a better use of your time.

Hmm thank you! I guess it would be the same too. although only one hour left, might as well just watch a series!
Another question then if you don't mind: how big was your total download? I had the 1.7gb earlier download and this 5.7 and in general I was reading about 8gb or so altogether so hopefully this will be it.

I haven't attempted to download this yet but if its anything like the patches, the answer is no. I once stopped a download for a patch (after log in) then restarted and it started all over again. I wouldn't stop it once its started.

Pretty sure that's all there is to download, for now at least! I downloaded mine earlier in the day and it was broken into two chunks, I hear now it's all one download - mine was around 3.7 and 2 (which is the same as your current 5.7- so seems like that's all of it).

@ElectricRoses: Hmm thank you, hopefully nothing else, or not much to download later on too then. My connection, as I mentioned, is not the best and would love to just play after work tomorrow.
