Well, My Patch Has Already Error'd and Closed itself.

Started downloading the patch about half an hour ago.

The Launcher appeared with the message

Unable to patch files:
[03413][20496]

And then force closed itself.

I started the launcher up again and re-logged in and the patch continued where it left off (I'm assuming), skipping over the effected files.

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Did it start DLing a patch that was fewer gigs than what you originally started DLing?

That's happened to me before when my patches would error and shut down. It's picking up where it left off, thus showing fewer gigs to DL. In my case, nothing bad happened.

I didn't check the size when I stated downloading, but it says 8034.04MB total now.

I play on PC. I did a couple of good Virus scans last night, but I don't think they attempted to remove anything from my FFXIV folders.

Your internet and/or connection to square enix probably just hiccuped, nothing to worry about. It's happened to me a few times on patches, I just had to restart my client and everything worked fine.

Usually when a file errors the patch will try to redownload the files that you were not able to get before. That's just how a patcher works. Don't sweat it, it was probably just a small error and your patch should be fine.

This is reassuring.

I've had tons of problems with patches in other MMOs (especially, TERA. F*cking TERA patches, ugh.) where any little error meant to reinstall the whooole game. Which takes 1-2 days with my internet. I've never had a single error with any of FFXIV's patches so I supposed it just surprised me a bit. ^.^"

If you have the 8034 MB patch, you're DLing the full patch. I wouldn't worry about it.
