Preordered HW on Steam, did not recieve early access code

I preordered HW on Steam and received an email as a receipt. The only code I saw which I thought *might* have been the early access code was a "confirmation code". I copy and pasted that to the HW early access website and it said it was invalid... What is going on? Is what Steam call a "confirmation" code the one we are supposed to enter into the website to pick up EA code or not?

Go to your Steam library, right click on FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, and select View CD key.
Log into the Mog Station, select Your Account, and enter the keys under the available options:
Enter the Pre-purchase Bonus Content product code using the Enter Pre-order Bonus Code (Early Access Code) button.
Enter the Standard/Collector's Edition product code using the Enter the Registration Code for the Expansion button.
