Be a healer or a Tank?

Hello, I just came back to the game. I have a White Mage and a Warrior. I was looking to use the Astro or the DRK. I'm a really good healer but I lack some skills tanking so I decided to start DRK to get some practice and start fresh however I'm lvl 41 with my DRK and I have been struggling with some dungeons and rotations, I tried the astro and I did really good the new card system is a nice touch and I got used to it really fast but at the same time feels boring since I have been healing since launch.

Should stick to DRK where I'm not good at or stick as a healer? I know someone is going to ask which one is more fun to me the problem is I dont know, I like to tank and be in the front line but I get nervous on raids or end game dungeons since I lack confidence, if I play as a healer I can go to any dungeon since I know that Im good at it but sometimes is kind of easy and boring to me. Any recommendation will be a great help, have you felt like this before? Thank you for your time

Well it sounds like you want to tank. Just go for it man. It's just a game. Let people know before you start that you're new and would appreciate any tips. It usually only takes 1 or 2 runs to get the grasp of a dungeon.

Level both tank and healer.

WHM can be boring as hell. If you like the DRK skills, try leveling a healer with more actions like SCH, or even AST.

I agree I got a little bit bored on 4 man instances where the only thing that I did was to spam cure 1, I'll try DRK first and then I will play Astrologian, thanks for the advice

AST will similar to WHM, the only difference being that in addition to spamming Benefic, you'll be spamming Draw. For low level healing the SCH is probably the most active healer because both faeries are can hold the line while you Dot thing up and Bane them.

The other benefit to leveling SCH is that you'll also level SMN as well, so you'll have a DD class as well.

Mmm interesting, I may lvl up my scholar as well, I think I'm lvl 35 already, I never used that much since I had to stick to my healer with the relic weapon quest, I will give a shot as well thanks!

Go with what you are confident as. I still get nervous tanking sometimes in extremes, but to me thats the thrill of battle.

Although you can't be DRK or AST without having had a level 50 char that has played through the story up to gaining access. Those classes are not an option for new players. I find SCH an easier healer for no other reason than having a healing fairy; which makes healing a breeze
