Simple and easy to balance. Things like luck, charisma, agility, etc... are all complex and, to be completely honest, redundant with how stats are now. I think we've got enough stats to worry about as it stands, we don't need to make it needlessly complex for the sake of complexity. There's no need for all those stats.

Not to mention, as I said and you ignored, there are stats on gear that are not on the attribute sheet. We've got enough as it stands.

Simple systems allow the devs to more easily balance content, gear, equations. In doing so they are able to more quickly create and implement said content. Needless complexity draws that process out a lot more. The more variables there are to consider, the harder it is to really create a balanced piece of content.
