WAR trying out WHM, Looking for advice and answers to some questions.

I would consider a scholar or Astrologian before you try out a white mage. Both are going to be more powerful and you are most likely wasting your time when white mages are looking right now to be benched more often because of how strong scholar and astrologian will be. You can mimic most of the white mage's powers using a different stance as a Astrologia. You can alter your playstyle to be more in line with scholar without having to gear up two jobs and most likely will be sought after more so then white mages since it will be the weakest of the three healers.

To the OP, play whatever you like the most. I tried Scholar and hate it, I think the pet is super annoying and I just don't find it fun to play at all but absolutely love WHM. Astrologian isn't even out yet so being told to play that doesn't really make sense considering pretty much no one has played it yet.

Eh, I'm entirely too stubborn to be swayed by that without seriously concrete proof...My friend's picking up AST anyways and she can relay to me how she feels about it.

I normally do not take the bait of trolls but I will only say take anything this person says with a grain of salt. There are some people who seem to try to antagonize people just because its the internet. The white mage is an antiquated job from the 1.0 days that did not get many changes like most other jobs got. It gets real boring real fast only having pure healing when Scholar and Astrologian provides that and much more fun mechanics that are actually useful in 3.0 and beyond.

White mage's are going to have issues from what I can see being stacked up against the other two healers. I am not sure if Alexander raid is going to require 3 healers or change up comp setup with jobs but white mages got several nerfs. Only thing they really brought that made them useful was combo of shell and protection in with their protection buff and now they lost that.

They have regen which will end up being mainly overhealing, a regen giving bubble which is either useless for burst healing or just straight up normal overhealing. No unique debuffs or buffs they will bring and even stoneskin is now meh for the white mage. Astrologian is the king of buffs for the healers it seems and utility and shielding of scholars will keep them a requirement in the raid scene so I will most likely see most white mage's re roll and end up like summoners from before the changes they got.

Oh yeah I know that there are scholars that stance dance...there are just a lot of butt hurt cleric stance only scholars that are lamenting the lustrate change. The change will force those scholars to learn the art of stance dancing.
