I'm biting the bullet and publishing a short story and a separate novel on Kindle.

The bargain I had with myself is that I had to have that done by HW in order to play it. Well, that means tomorrow is the last day. Everything is edited and prettied up. Just a matter of pushing the button and sticking out my neck.

They're romance and erotica, for the morbidly curious.

Yes! Amazon Kindle is a totally viable publishing option these days. Cut out the BS, cut out the bookstores, and get straight to interested readers. A friend of mine who is a professional novelist switched from paper books to Kindle only and never regretted it. You have to hire your own editor, and do your own marketing, so there's a little bit of up-front cost, but you get paid once a month instead of once every six months, so there's that.
