Tataru is basically a character designed for us to empathize with.

She tries a few jobs, levels them part way... then says, oh gee this is too hard for me... then goes to do another....repeat!

Sounds like most people that play FFXIV :P I know it sounds like me, I leveled botany to 50 and am like "NOPE!"

While I do care about the story getting through it is more important to me. If I really want to ill recap it all later.

Exactly. There are only so many "go here and collect 10 bear asses" quests i can handle before I just don't care anymore. Story or no.

I'm going to assume that it's from the time you and she part ways from her self-discovery quest until the time you meet up again at the end of the 2.55 story.
