so how do the numbers look without using blood of the dragon and the abilities locked behind it?

"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."
I parsed about 987 on a dummy. Usually pushing 1175 with BotD.

I don't know anymore. After grinding my full law set and doing hunts and daily dungeons and what not, I thought that I enjoyed the new Dragoon abilities.
Then there was Bis EX, we progressed and we cleared the fight but I felt like I was underperforming so I went back in with a few groups and got more clears but I still feel like the rotation is off for end game bosses.
Then I did Ravana EX progression for 3 hours today and it crushed me, even after knowing when and where to use my skills, I still feel like we have to put alot of effort into just doing the same amount of dps another class is doing with far less effort.
Maybe iam just nuts I dont know, Ill give it some more time and try some more ravana while i level smn or something on the side.
Cast in the name of god, ye not guilty
Ravana's not nice to melee DPS numbers in general, with the amount of downtimes and positional screwing. Then I did Ravana EX progression for 3 hours today and it crushed me, even after knowing when and where to use my skills, I still feel like we have to put alot of effort into just doing the same amount of dps another class is doing with far less effort.

You aren't nuts.
Ravana EX isn't a good fight for Dragoons training unfortunately.

So I've cleared Ravana EX a couple of times already, but still wanna know about the "saving cds for Scorpion form" meta that happens a lot in my server Midgardsormr. For DRGs / DPS-wise in general, does it make a huge difference in hurting him if I start my "real" rotation when he shifts to Scorpion (87%) compared with just doing it normally since pull? Because I've been in groups where I did both ways and still cleared anyway. The only cds I use until Scorpion are Leg Sweep, Jump, and SSD since by the time he shifts form those 3 cds would be up again.
Makes no difference. If you use BFB, IR, PS, LIFES, LEGS at the beginning of the fight, they will be up for her liberation cast which happens at approximately 75% when she's vulnerable again.
Scorpion-meta is dumb in my personal opinion and just gimps your overall raid deeps. You miss out on having BFB up for Moon Nagas as well, holding your buffs for an additional 20s.
What's the average DPS DRG parsing on your server Kyrios91?

I'm not really a parse person so idk... maybe next time I find a run tonight I would have a chance to parse the fight (I'm staticless, so finding Rav EX group that can clear smoothly is quite some work in my server, but usually I have friends with statics that hit me up if there's a spot).
But yeah I agree that the Scorpion meta thing is weird, really. In this game DPSing is all about cycling and timing the oGCDs, you rarely hold them back unless for something really, really specific. I do hold BL until he shifts into Liberation / cracking Warlord Shell. Do you think if it's better to hold BL in those situations or just pop it during pull and everytime it's up again to maximize the number of usage?
I'm not too sure about BL. If you use BL at the same time as IR in your opener, every 3 IR's/PS's/Jumps will also be buffed by BL, so I genuinely keep them together on the same oCD-window.
The only cooldown you should really hold in Ravana EX is BotD, so you can carry it through to other phases to have maximum DPS up time.

Yeah I use this forum's opening rotation minus using pots unless it's for progression.I'm not too sure about BL. If you use BL at the same time as IR in your opener, every 3 IR's/PS's/Jumps will also be buffed by BL, so I genuinely keep them together on the same oCD-window.

As for BotD I just use it as normal until he's casting Prelude, then I just spend it since it's gonna be gone anyway. Then I don't use it during Liberation cast and Beetle form (In most of my runs the BotD would run out after I stop to do the orbs) and then just use it as normal during Swift and Final Liberation.
