that feeling when you keep doing your old 2.x opener you've used for months by mistake/muscle memory

My first time posting. Just curious. What's the ideal rotation gonna look like at 60? any ideas?
I havent unlocked the 4th parts yet but yesterday I tried rearranging my xbar to retrain my muscle memory. We are definitely going to have a mega hard time, as the core abilities (ht, idc4, phleb, tvf4) are needed on the face buttons for movement. I tried having ht and phleb on the d pad but would just not hit them properly, and if I left them on the face pad but the l2r2 bar I would be slow to hit them. So thats left putting the 4th parts on the d pad, which with this new information is gonna be impossible to hit fast while moving..
Seriously debating just setting up the kb and mouse but then I have to get used to a whole new system.
Please, if anyone has found an efficient way to have the abilities on xbar, please share..

Random positional instead of a combo action feels like a pretty big step backwards after 2.4's whole DRG fixes were all about removing awkward and poorly implemented positional mechanics. Who at Square looked at this and thought it was anything but the worst possible way to work in new skills? Why would you put in something that is so actively detrimental to the role?
High/Risk, High/Reward. If my old models are somewhat accurate, at i180/i180, Dragoon will be 10 damage per hit ahead than any other job at the same baseline. Coupled with how much damage I'm already doing with my new toys, I wouldn't put it past me if Dragoon just has a very, very high Skillcap, much higher than Monk, but easily being the highest DPS.
Having said that, 190 potency penalty is god damn awful. You can't use any of your new skills in bosses which turn to target random party members. That's so poopy.

Well, nice to know now how Wheeling Thrust and Fang & Claw work. Planning out hotbars was a pain since I'm on controller, but at least I've come up with something that'll work. I wouldn't dare call it ideal, since I still have no idea where I'd even put a potion (might have to finally start using that extra set of spots for holding both triggers), but other than that I've got everything I'd use in a good spot I think. Now to adjust as the skills come, just got F&C, so life is convenient for now.
I will say though, making it so at level 58 our rotation becomes far more irritating for literally zero gain doesn't seem to make much sense. I'll adjust, but the way they did this definitely seems wrong, should've at least been given both at the same level.
(BL)>HT>(BfB>IR)>ID>(PS>BotD)>DI>(Pot)>CT>(GK)>WT/FC>
(J)>PH>(DFD)>TT>(SSD)>VT>(LegS>LifeS)>FT>WT/FC>
Feels like I'm missing something.

that's basically what i'm using right now. i swap BfB and IR order for 9 skill bfb, and then i swap legsweep and geirskogul around, since getting legsweep off cooldown earlier is better i think, mainly because the 2nd combo chain won't be able to use geirskogul without draining BOTD. at my sksp (2.39) the 2nd botd lines up pretty well with a geirskogul to burn the duration, then BOTD to refresh and get 4th hit
i wish i could get the 4th hit after FT buffed with xpot etc, but it doesnt seem possible

at the end of the day is this weird random back/side proc thing worth the extra dps?

So unless we reach massive levels of SkS, which I think is what Dervy is checking, Det/Crit will still be better as a stat - we're clipping stuff anyway. Can't really say I'm happy.
