[QUOTE=Kyomagi;3035513]inn room, auto run
outside, afk crafting
No one should be doing stupid stuff like that so they should either be playing the game or don't and log out so others could be playing. That is if there are problems for anyone getting in which I'm sure there will be!
We need a setting to auto use Aetheryte Tickets ~ An amount set by the players like set to 500 Gil if a teleport cost over that amount it will auto-use a ticket!
Workarounds - that's assuming they haven't learned from the prior implementation.
Player
But people will do it and there is not much you can do about it
Doesn't effect anyone with a brain stem. I'll just go back to clicking on a npc, or having my retainer interaction open. Fortunately for all the other players that may be waiting to get into the game. I don't typically AFK for infinity. But I may step out for 30 mins to make dinner, or do choirs, or any other damn thing. I'd prefer not to have to log back in. If I'm going out, I almost always turn my PC off now that I have a SSD. I mean when it takes less then 45 seconds to power on and get into a game(minus queue..) I don't have any reason to leave it on for too long now a days.
Square-Enix is already doing just that. It won't stop determined AFKers, but it will stop the majority of them. Anyone that determined to stay online that they resort to exploits or tying rubber bands around controllers has some deep rooted issues and needs a psychologist.
If there hasn't been any user input for 30 minutes you should get disconnected. Simple as that. Haven't finished talking to that NPC in 30 minutes? Too bad, get the fudge out. Auto-running into a wall for 30 minutes? Time to give your character's weary legs a rest aka get the fudge out. Can't complete your synth in 30 minutes? You're bad at crafting and you should feel bad. Also, get the fudge out. The instances where "legitimate" players would be affected by that kind of system would be few and far between. Obviously bots could still get around that sort of system but it's still better than only booting players that have been "AFK" for 30 minutes.
I would just like to point out this:
"[2.0] Your online status will no longer automatically change to Away from Keyboard when using auto-run or follow."
So people will just put auto-ruin on and no more dc. Well done SE, well done....
