Stop to the Tomestone removal. Add Memorial NPCs.

Every update we have to deal with the removal and weird trading of old tomestones to the new, generating not only a weird looking and really unpolished interface, but also rendering lots of gear and weapon sets almost unatainable but only through constant dungeon grinding of old content, this has to end.

Instead of having tomestones on the same tab as other currencies, just add a tomestone book, registering the currency of all tomestones, from philosophy to the new law ones, reincorporate the regular drops of these tomestones to lower level dungeons and side activities in lower cuantities.

Then add Memorial NPCs that hold both, the old Tomestone gear that was removed to be place on dungeons and the set of dungeon gears of past content too, tradable all for the same level tomestones. This way instead of removing content and locking it away, just making it harder to get for most players, you keep content, add new one and we all win.

Philosophy and Mythology for example can still be used to get the i70 gear and the i90 gear of the old job sets and their level sets, like the ones from Brayflox Longstop HM or the level 50 dungeons of Wanderer Palace and Amdapor Keep.
Soldiery and Poetics could be used to get what we know, i100 and i120, and the dungeon sets from all the corresponding HM dungeons till now.

And so forth, each time a new set of tomestones appear, instead of removing the older one, just add a Memorial NPC of said content, making it easier for everyone to hunt for glamour pieces, right now getting a whole set of, lets say, i70 AF is a pain.

They implemented it as they wanted to implement it. There's nothing that can be done.

There is a point to all of this.

If the Tomestone systems were not in place, everyone (especially those who go on hiatus and then come back months later) would have to grind through every single piece of content to get gear to play the next piece of content... for EVERY job.

That's all fine when you only play one job. But some players have all these jobs leveled but don't wish to pay the highway robbery prices for crafted gear if they aren't going to play these jobs very often.

Sadly but also you are not considering this is a time saving(lazy) way of itemizing new dungeons. Also another way to force people to do hunts and so on. Cleaning up the interface is one thing. They can always work on that. But the rest won't happen it is to convenient for them right now.

I think they could just make it so that you can trade in some of the current tomestone for a "vintage gear token", and then trade the token for the older gear. They added this sort of token already in some of the early level-50 dungeons to trade for the old iLvl 90 gear. As long as they keep providing a way of getting the gear by running content, it should serve the glamour purpose.

The other option would be to make costume versions of the outfits with the same look (but level 1/base stats) that can be crafted only for glamour. If they wish, they could make those crafting recipes require an item that you get from dungeons or via tokens.

I think these sorts of approaches would serve the purpose without requiring people to remember and track an ever-expanding amount of tomestone currencies.

They did better with the i90 Mythology gear than they did with the i70 Philosophy gear. But I still think it would be better to keep them within the token system. Instead of running one of three specific dungeons hoping for an item drop, let us trade Poetics or Law tomestones to get those "Antique <item>" tokens or whatever their next equivalent is for the Soldiery gear.
