Or you can just run the content again and get your gear. There's no participation lockout on Alexander.
Honestly, I think if they're going to add this they need to fix the withdraw system. Because honestly?
If it is a loot rule I dislike and I'm get queue'd for it? Shouldn't I be allowed to withdraw without adding to a future penalty? Unless I'm misunderstanding how this works via Duty Finder queue's.
Edit: Nevermind, I guess its a new thing you can pick to queue for before you queue? Seems like it'll restrict duties even more than they already do.
But even then.
You can only use the non-Normal rules with full parties or with the "Undersized Party" option. Full parties (and presumably deliberately undersized parties) do not count towards the withdraw penalty.
Ohhh okay, thanks for elaborating. I was under the impression you could pick what type of loot system you wanted before joining any DF party. I could see that QUICKLY being abused. lol
Big issue in wow was that it could be altered on the fly and ninjas would switch settings during big trash pulls to try and fool ppl XDWhen I played WoW some I had nothing but bad experiences with this feature. Just so you get an idea of what happened in WoW everyone who makes groups for raids or anything will always used lootmaster because it was just the norm. Anyway most of the time the person making the group would ninja gear for themself or friends, or take rare 1% drop rate mounts for themselves. Everyone in that game just accepted lootmaster as the norm because they were all like well people could ninja stuff with Need/greed. When something got ninjaed GM would never do anything about it because they would just tell you, "you joined a group with lootmaster so you agreed to whatever the leader decided to do with the loot"
Hosestly I hope this doesn't come the norm to use it in farm parties in FFXIV because it was nothing but awful in WoW.
hope random leaders in DF parties arent assigned lootmaster status.. imo it should only be viable for full premade groups cause it will get abused guarantee it
I was losing out to gear horders. Aka people that weren't even playing the job at all, and I was always just one of two RDMs that would ever show up. So basically we both were getting screwed. On the night I got my RDM hat, the people who were #1 and #2 in line for the hat did not show up for the Xarc run.
I was the LS leader and #3 in line for the hat.
Miraculously a second one dropped and #4 got his as well.
I have lost many friendships over that RDM hat, but not because I as a Dynamis leader abused our rule system.
[2.0] Loot rules can now be set when entering a duty while meeting the party size requirements or when using the undersized party option.
don't worry that is how it works.
Correct, and if you bring in a random player it defaults to normal looting rules.
Note also that these options are for pre-made parties--either directly inviting people or setting it up through Party Finder. Loot rules also can't be used for alliance instances either. Loot Rules are for 4/8 man runs, and you have to either gather the required party size first, or set the option to run the dungeon with less than the instance's party size requirement. If you are a partial group and go into the DF to fill remaining slots, you can't set loot options and such--it will default to normal need/greed/pass options.
I think it is a horrible idea to have this as a static choice.
I think having the option is good, but I think the potential abuse and victims from it will heavily outweigh any potential good that comes.
