Funny, you make the comparison that its an mmo vs sp yet someone else just goes for Diablo, an SP game thats ironically made by a company that never required one to finish the story of any expansion to catch up.

Funny how you purposely forget the part of my quote where it specifically says that you have to beat the main story to get access to the expansion content.
Or funny how you consider Diablo a "single-player" game...

And before you use the "But Wow isn't like that !", you just have to remember that WoW, contrary to FFXIV and Diablo, does not have a main story tying content together.

Seriously, did you complain you can't face Malthael after he stole the Black Soulstone before doing Act II where you retrieve said soulstone in the first place ?!
