Yes, to add to this even, we knew we had to complete the main story quest and unlock ishgard before we even knew what level the new jobs started at.
This is definitely not new information at this point.

You do, because this is a story based game, which means you need to complete the story currently out, to have the time advance when Ishguard will allow you into their kingdom, if you don't like story based games, go elsewhere.so how far exactly i need to get in MSQ to be able to create a Dark Knight ?
just asking because i read that it has a lvl30 any class requirement only and thats lame if i need to do lvl50 story quests to even go to the place where i can train it out.....
WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THIS !
whats the point of one week early access preorder bonus like this to begin with ????
pls tell me i don't need to suffer through the Riotblade spam all the way to 50 on my Glad/Pal if i want a DK this week......................
damn I'm tired of people complaining about this.

DK = Donkey Kong? Great Ape confirmed for Heavensward 3.1! Please look forward to it.
But, seriously... as a Paladin myself I worry for your parties. Savage Blade builds aggro, so use it. It doesn't hurt as much as Riot Blade, but it benefits the team more. It's early days yet, so I can understand wanting to use your 'strongest' attack more frequently than the others. Next level brings Rage of Halone, which not only deals significantly more damage than Riot Blade, it also combos off Savage Blade. So it's good to get into the habit of using it more and arranging your hotbar appropriately.
As for Dark Knight, yes. You'll need to have completed the main story all the way to 2.55 (that means doing considerably more than merely pushing back the Garleans). Once done, you'll understand why the restriction for Ishgard is in place assuming you pay even the slightest attention to the storyline.
My advice? Don't rush the game. Take your time to enjoy all of it. The endgame is a grindy mess currently, and there's nothing to suggest it won't be the same once Heavensward's story is done. There will be plenty of time for grind, so take some time to enjoy the scenery while you're playing. You'll get more out of it in the long run. Ultimately, we play games to enjoy them so why not enjoy all of it rather than only the latter half?

I don't get why people whine about something locked behind an expansion.
I mean, it's a progression stuff. If you want to get something cool, you have to go through a couple of easier stuffs first.
If you can't even tank Aurum Vale properly... I mean what does DRK has that will make you better?
That dark, cool-looking greatsword? Or the fact that it looks way cooler than the other ones?
Remember. The grass ALWAYS looks greener on the other side.
But hey, it's your opinion. I'm supposed to respect that so carry on.
There has already been entire topcis devoted to discussing this, so I'll give you the TL;DR:
There are sides that want people to have access to the content that they paid for. A level 30 class, ideally, is unlocked at level 30 without having to complete the previous expansion to be able to enjoy it. The fact that the zones are 50+ is reasonable enough, and gives people things to do for their maxed out jobs, but the fact that this expansion offers nothing enticing to new players is a huge disadvantage for it.
At the same time, many people prefer that the content be locked and do not feel it a problem. This side is also perfectly reasonable in its beliefs, as it is true that the jobs we are unlocking start off at level 30 (Which is the most compelling reason I have seen given for it.) There are also those who believe Lore is the major reason, however Lore is something that is created by the writers, not made in stone. SE could easily have given the new jobs -outside- of Ishgard if they wanted to, and still maintain continuity.
In the end, calling people "Whiners" just feels disrespectful to me. People have valid concerns, wants, and desires. They come to the forums to share them. Share in the discussion. :3

ok here is a rundown of my issues because ALLOT of people dont get my issue
1 the main reason i bought the expansion is the DK
2 i LOVE tanking ( Glad is boooring as hell and i have a PASSIONATE HATE againts axes its bassicaly immersion breaking for me )
3 i like the story BUT i could do the story and UNLOCK the new expansion zones even if they would allow us to play DK ( the difference ? i would enjoy the game WAAY more )
4 Dark Knight sooooo its DK DK DK i dont see a R as a 3rd word DK DK DK ( /angry kid mode off )
so i Enjoy the game ALLOT but im stuck playing classes i don't like all the way to 50 through ALL the story just to unlock a class that i Enjoy that will start at 30 so i assume i will need to fate grind 20 levels again with it to start questing in the expansion.
DRK ( happy ? ) is a main reason i bought this game and subbed for it i always liked this game but there was no a class i could get into with my immersion so i avoided it till these days.
