    Unwanted friend requests

Please add wtbgg to the list of unacceptable names for first name and last name.

Please do not allow tells to be sent by players under level 10 to players who are not on their friend list.

Please do not allow players under level 10 to send friend requests to other players.

    Thanks.

Also getting tired of these RMT friend invites since u have to do alot just to decline and block them . Thats is if you dont set yourself as busy so no one can send invites or whispers of any type. and i think if SE can change the code so no one under a certain level can spam people with friend invites it should be level 15 -20 before u can send them to anyone above level 15-20.

I'd already be happy if they made it easier to decline friend requests (mainly because of the rmts, but also for other unwanted people). If I am asked if I want to be someone's friend or not and I say NO, that should be it. Instead, the name goes onto my friend list in orange, acting as if I haven't given an answer yet. From there I have to right-click it to open a new menu to finally decline, and if I want that person on my blacklist, I still have 2 more steps ahead of me.
Why not just end it when I say no, thanks, I don't want to be your friend?

    TBH the solution is simple:

    1. Restrict /tell until level X (10 is a good number)
    2. Restrict the chat server-side, so that it filters out any combination of wtbgg, wtsgg, etc. (this is reallllllllly easy to implement, only it puts some load on the server)
    3. Restrict Friend Request by level (tbh this is a big barrier for new players) or, preferably, have players do a mandatory story quest in order to be able to add friends.

    Just my 2 cents

It's a big game of whack-a-mole; any measure implemented will be bypassed fairly quickly. The main issue is not hurting legitimate new players with them.

Chat scanners, a faster way to report RMT spammers, chat lockouts for green leafs reported x number of times as RMT, limiting simultaneous/total sent friend requests for green leafs would all be helpful.

On high pop servers they don't even have the leaf. It's also easy to remove from your status. Level 10, or even 15 would be good.

its actually simple to take care of,

    1. make it so Busy can accept tells, party invites and do ready checks while on Busy from friends and FC mates and have everyone set to busy when they log in after level 10. then all but the ones doing the shouts cant do anything and they will look for other ways around it.

    2. it would also help if we could do a quick report/temp blocklist that locks the entire account from tells/friend requests and doesnt go into our blacklist for RMT spammers until the message is viewed by a GM and then have the GM either add to a master list of spammers or release the account to send more tells. imagine these companies getting reported and entire accounts locked down after 2-3 minutes due to this. it would become very expensive, very fast.

    3. make it so trail accounts cant send tells.

[1 - 3] This suggestion does resolve many problems, but you have to think that such a solution makes things very boring and restrictive for the new player coming into ffxiv. As a business, SQEX wants to bring in new players, but if you cannot send pm's to your friends it gimps he social aspect of the game a lot. Plus it locks you out of a very important social mechanic. Restricting tells to friends before X level would be a good enough deterrent IMO.

[2] Good point, but it isn't GM's who examine the reports for botting; they are escalated to a special purpose team. What would help is IP ban / CC ban if X amount of reports oroginate from this. This still can get circumvented, but it maes life harder, so less face value for botters.

what they should do is restrict people from sending tills till they have picked there 2nd class to become PLD BRD or what ever it is cause it means those ppl have to take the gosh darn time to level up each time time spam garbage and its getting tired of RMT whispers friends request everything I thought they did something about it they need to fix it again these ppl are ruining the experience
