Heavensward Predownload

I searched on this and was unable to find anything, my GFs home internet is slow so she'll roughly need about 3 days to DL Heavensward depending on the size, does anyone know if the PC version of the pre order will have the ability to download before hand? From what I've seen it's still not out yet

it should be downloadable on the day before early access starts according to what SE said if i remember right. not sure tough.

It looks like they're doing the regular maintenance > patch up > download routine.

Just hope there is enough time to download before early access otherwise it's just wasted download time

On the PS4 the download has a timer that's presently around 3 days. I'd imagine once that times out it will auto-download, assuming the PS4 is on at the time.

They never allow download before the final maintenance before patch/update/etc, it will be DAT mined within hours and will undoubtedly have market breaking information on it. Can you imagine if the servers were still live and someone had an inside tip that several items were due for a spike in price they would buy up the market. Also changes happen up to the last minute, so if they allow download now that's several days less testing/debugging before the patch goes live.

It sucks for people with slow net, but unfortunately there really is no other way to go about it.

On the PS4 it downloads a day before (June 18), the timer is for when you will be able to play it which is the 19.

filesize info would be great because alternatively she can use our phone net which is 32432432432x faster sadly, but we're limited to 30GB

I don't know the full filesize, but the download my code gave me for PS4 is 1.7 gigs. I figure this is just the core data though such as the area maps and such that is specific to the locations only accessible through Heavensward. The maintenance patch itself that will go out when they're done with the planned maintenance will likely hold all of the "real" data such as items, skills, ect as they all affect the areas outside the HW specific locations. Meaning the patch itself will probably be at least 4-10gigs, while the "Heavensward" download is only 1.7, (at least on PS4). Of course, this is purely speculation on my part, but maybe it'll give some idea in the matter......
